Before using a pencil, trace the route with a finger and identify the start, junctions and finish.
Before using a pencil, trace the route with a finger and identify the start, junctions and finish. Choose broad passages and few decisions so the participant can focus on following the route.
Support the learner by pointing out a small area without drawing the entire answer. If pencil control is difficult, describe or point along the route. Age labels guide selection but do not replace observing how the activity is used.
If you reach a dead end, return to the last junction and try another branch. A pencil lets you correct your route without obscuring the passages. When finished, follow your line from start to finish to check that it does not jump over a wall.
