How to print

Match the file to your paper

Letter measures 8.5 × 11 inches, or 215.9 × 279.4 mm. A4 measures 210 × 297 mm. Choose the file that matches your paper and select the same size in your printer settings.

Download the PDF and open it in your viewer. To print only part of a workbook, enter the page numbers or range in the print dialog.

Keep the intended measurements

Use Actual size or 100% whenever measurements matter: grids, handwriting guides, puzzle pieces and assembly templates. Turn off options that enlarge the document to fill the paper.

If something is cut off, first check that the PDF and printer use the same paper size. Print a test page before a whole workbook. Fit to page can be used for activities without fixed measurements when necessary.

Check activity and answer files

Download links identify the activity and, when available, its answer sheet. Preview the document before printing. In tools that offer both buttons, choose the activity or answer button according to what you want to print.

Paper and cutting

Regular printer paper works for writing and puzzles. For cards or pieces you will handle repeatedly, use sturdier paper within your printer specifications.

Choose scissors suited to the activity. Young children need adult supervision when using scissors and glue.

Color and black and white

Text, line and grid worksheets can be printed in black and white. Keep the indicated colors in activities that depend on them, such as color nonograms, so you do not lose information.

Printing from a tool

Create the activity, check its contents and select Print. In your browser dialog, choose your printer or save a PDF. Disable automatic browser headers and footers if the web address and date appear.

Editable templates

Excel downloads are spreadsheet workbooks. Keep an original copy and save a separate copy for your information. Review formulas, date formats and print areas after opening a workbook in another application.
