Observe the theme’s shapes
Before choosing colors, locate heart curves, envelopes and flower stems. Separate foreground and background, then test a short palette on scrap paper. Repeat a color to connect details in different parts of the picture.
After the activity
Write a kind message to an imaginary character or someone you choose, without being required to share it. Use Valentine motifs to create messages of friendship, appreciation or affection suited to the participants.
Try a small palette
Choose three or four colors and test them together on scrap paper. Repeat a color in separate areas to connect them visually, or leave some spaces white. With markers, place a protective sheet underneath and check whether ink shows through.
