Observe the theme’s shapes
Before choosing colors, locate planet circles, star points and a rocket’s long body. Separate foreground and background, then test a short palette on scrap paper. Repeat a color to connect details in different parts of the picture.
After the activity
Sort words into celestial objects and human-made objects; a rocket belongs in the second group. Distinguish objects seen in the sky from vehicles and instruments used to explore it.
Try a small palette
Choose three or four colors and test them together on scrap paper. Repeat a color in separate areas to connect them visually, or leave some spaces white. With markers, place a protective sheet underneath and check whether ink shows through.
