Start with broad tracing, familiar letters, cutting lines or matching shapes. These are starting points for roughly ages 4–6; choose according to the child’s experience, not a fixed age requirement. Trace one line with a finger before using a pencil. For letter practice, begin with a letter the child recognizes.
Use a small set of cards
For a first memory game, set out three matching pairs of shape cards face up. Find the pairs together, then turn those six cards face down for a short game. With number cards, begin with 1–3 and add counters to connect each numeral to its quantity. Add more pairs only when the current set is comfortable.
Match the task to the child
Start cutting with the straight paths, then try curves and matching circles, squares and triangles to their outlines. Use suitable scissors with adult supervision. Kindergarten varies by school system; this selection is practice material, not an official curriculum or a requirement to complete every page.
