Agree on challenges before starting
Choose a few squares and add short actions, such as naming three animals or moving to 12. Write below the board what happens when a challenge is completed or missed. Try a turn before starting and keep the same rules throughout the game.
The basic race
Start off the board, before 1, and move the number shown on the die. Reach 40 exactly to win; an overshoot bounces back by the excess. Counters may share a square. You can also play without adding challenges.
