Each clue specifies both a run length and its color. Check the key: under the usual convention, runs of different colors may touch, while consecutive runs of the same color need an empty separating cell.

What to check

Do not automatically apply the single-color spacing rule to every run. Mark confirmed empty cells too. If two colors look similar, identify their clues first and use an extra mark to distinguish them.

Separate empty from unknown

Mark cells you know are empty with a cross and leave unresolved cells unmarked. Progress in a row supplies information for its columns. At the end, count the actual runs in every line and compare them with all its clues.
