Try an example

In a maze with many junctions, keep track of the last decision point and explore one branch fully before switching. Lightly mark discarded dead ends to avoid repeating them.

What to check

Do not cross a wall to connect two nearby-looking stretches. If checking against a solution, follow the junctions one by one and locate the first point where your route diverged.

Backtrack to the last decision

If you reach a dead end, return to the last junction and try another branch. A pencil lets you correct your route without obscuring the passages. When finished, follow your line from start to finish to check that it does not jump over a wall.
