Look for continuing details
In a picture on this theme, ears, legs, tails and markings that distinguish silhouettes can provide reference points. Find a detail crossing two pieces and check its orientation before trying another join.
After the activity
Choose two animals and explain one similarity and one difference using what you can observe. Compare animals by their features and movement without assuming they all share a habitat.
Match continuing details
Start with outside edges, then find colors or lines continuing between two pieces. Arrange pieces without gluing until you have checked the full picture. Keep the reference visible at first and put it aside for a second attempt.
