What do you need?
- One sheet of A4 or US Letter paper
- Color printer to keep the colors of the picture
- Scissors for an adult
- Optional: thin cardstock and glue
- Optional: a second copy as a reference
How to do this activity
- Print the activity. If you need a reference, print another copy and leave it uncut.
- For firmer pieces, glue the sheet to cardstock and let it dry before cutting.
- An adult should cut around the blue square, then along the four dashed lines, including their small curves, to make nine pieces.
- Mix the pieces, then place the corners and edges first.
- Complete the fish using its eye, fins and background as clues.
About this resource
Ages are a guide. Beginner level assumes a reference image and adult help; an adult prepares the curved cuts. One design is included, with no separate reference sheet or additional fish. Physical cutting and assembly testing is pending.
